Andreas BedorfThe van der Schaar Lab’s 2024 open house took place on 17 October as a by-invitation event for collaborators and sponsors. Mihaela van der Schaar presented an ambitious vision for the future of machine learning – The Reality-Centric AI Agenda – aimed at achieving real-world transformation at scale in diverse fields, from healthcare to education, while ensuring that these advances are human empowering rather than marginalising.
This was followed by 8 talks by lab members showcasing how the lab is pushing the boundaries of what is possible with ML in order to advance the Reality-Centric AI Agenda.
