Inspiration Exchange #20

On September 19th, the van der Schaar Lab will hold its twentieth Inspiration Exchange engagement session for machine learning students.

This session will focus on two exciting developments in time-series methods – neural differential equations and causal effect inference over time.

The session will begin with an extended introduction/tutorial on neural differential equations and motivate why such methods are important for medicine and beyond. Our lab members will then present cutting-edge developments in this area and demonstrate the impact of treatment effect inference over time. Finally, we will welcome guests from industry to join our discussion. Our guests are Dr Emma Slade (GSK) and Dr Javier Hernández (Microsoft Research)
