The van der Schaar Lab is tremendously proud of its students making an exceptional appearance at NeurIPS – widely considered the world’s largest and most prestigious AI and machine learning research conference.
With 9 papers accepted for publication, one of them chosen to be one of the Spotlights of this year’s conference, our lab cements its position at the forefront of ML research, covering a uniquely reality-centric angle for topics such as LLMs, Causal Deep Learning, Tabular Data, Digital Twins, and more.
Especially outstanding are the performances of first-year PhD students Max Ruiz Luyten and Nicolas Astorga, both publishing as first authors at NeurIPS. Another star this year is Sam Holt, publishing 3 papers!
If you are interested in following in their footsteps – working on transformative ML concept and having the chance of publishing at the world’s most important conferences from the start – we are currently looking for five new PhD students! More information here.
The Thirty-eighth annual conference on Neural Information Processing Systems is held from 9 to 15 December at the Vancouver Convention Center.
You can find all accepted papers in the graphic below:

In addition, we will also present 3 papers at 5 workshops, showcasing our expertise in LLMs:

I am invited to talk at 3 further workshops, two about LLM’s role in advancing science & on a Causal Representation Learning Panel:
