Please join us on International Women’s Day (March 8) for the very first session in our new and exciting WeCREATE engagement series for female students and young professionals!

About the WeCREATE engagement series
No-one should be discouraged from studying or working in engineering, computer science, applied maths or related areas.
This is the driving idea behind WeCREATE, a series of free, interactive engagement sessions aiming to encourage and inspire female students and young professionals to embrace creative careers in engineering, computer science, applied maths, and beyond. We hope to do this by dispelling widely held myths, and by putting creative female role models firmly in the spotlight.
WeCREATE is the brainchild of Prof. Mihaela van der Schaar, the University of Cambridge’s John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Machine Learning, AI and Medicine at the University of Cambridge. The series is supported by an international network of enthusiastic volunteers and ambassadors.
Join us on March 8!
We will use our March 8 launch event to outline the bold and ambitious vision behind WeCREATE, and explain why we decided to build a platform for exploring the excitement of creative careers in AI, engineering, computer sciences, and applied math (with a special focus on AI and machine learning).
This session will feature a panel discussion with several amazing female role models who are making their mark on the world with creativity and a sense of purpose every day. Our panellists will be diverse in terms of international background, career stage, professional experience, and sector of work (hailing from both industry and academia). They will share positive messages, support, and guidance, and will showcase some of their projects that are particularly creative and/or achieve social benefit across a wide variety of professional fields. They will also answer questions about their work or their area in general.
Whether you’re a high school student wondering about your next big step into higher education, an undergraduate considering further study or career options outside academia, or a postgrad or professional looking for inspiration, we hope you’ll join us!
